The seminar "TERRARIUM – AS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF THE MODERN ZOO"
On February 17, 2023 the online seminar of the Association of Zoos of Ukraine (AZU) was held for the first time within the last 2 years. The seminar "TERRARIUM – AS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF THE MODERN ZOO" took place in an online format and was organized by the joint efforts of the Cherkasy Zoo "Roshen" and the BION Terrarium Center. The staff of Terrarium and Aquaterrarium Departments of the zoos, other zoo workers, specialists of educational institutions and their students, interested in the seminar’s topic, were invited to participate. The main topic discussed at the seminar was the exchange of achievements in designing terrarium expositions aimed at increasing the interest of visitors, performing functions of environmental protection by the zoos, improving the economy and autonomy of terrarium expositions, sharing the experience of vet-service of such specific groups of animals as amphibians and reptiles. Owing to the relaxed friendly atmosphere, the seminar lasted for 7 hours with several coffee breaks.
Representatives of almost all zoos of the Association of Zoos of Ukraine (AZU) made online presentations. In the program, listeners could see presentations of the following speakers:

"Maintenance of water agamas (Physignathus cocincinus) in the Rivne Zoo" by Gaiova Yu. (Rivne Zoo).
"History of creation and development of Aquaterrarium of Cherkasy Zoo" by Van Ye. (Cherkasy Zoo “Roshen”).

This seminar was just the first of a series of practical online meetings of AZU planned for 2023. Based on the results of the meeting, there is a plan to publish a collection of materials of the seminar; soon it will be available online for the interested parties.
