On 15.01.2020 our Parson’s chameleons (Calumma parsonii) from Tamatava locality started to hatch. The clutch consisted of 47 eggs was laid by C. parsonii Tamatava female on 06.05.2018. After all this time we saw first babies to hatch. As for 28.01.2020, we already have 8 babies with an average weight (calculated immediately after hatching) of 1,69 g and average total length of 9,5 cm (3.74 in).
Several eggs were unfertilized and on 09.10.2019 only 33 eggs were still in good condition. The rest of the babies are on the way, some of them have already broken their eggshells. After all babies hatch, we will make a proper report in the framework of Responsible Herpetoculture with BION Terrarium Center.
