BION’s team had the honor to participate in the first international conference on herpetoculture "Herpeton 2019"
On 6-9.06.2019 BION’s team, namely, Dmitri Tkachev, Sergei Prokopiev, Petr Necas, and Oleksii Marushchak, had the honor to participate in the first international conference on herpetoculture Herpeton 2019 that was held in San Diego, California, USA. During 4 days, we were able to communicate with outstanding personalities in the field of Herpetoculture: Philippe de Vojoli, Allen Repashy, Emmanuel Van Heygen, Scott Stahl, Craig Durbin, and many others. Dmitri Tkachev and Pert Necas presented talks called “BION Terrarium Center – as a business and breeding operation” and “Creative reserve populations of rare reptile species, with a focus on Parson’s Chamaeleon” respectively. Warm and friendly atmosphere of the conference was enriched with several herping trips to Borrego Desert, excursion to the San Diego Zoo, and “Repashy” factory. We do hope we can arrange the next conference “Responsible Herpetoculture’’ in Kyiv, Ukraine. No doubt such events help herp community join efforts to raise the global herpetoculture to the new level.
